Quickstart

Protect a page with a Waitrooms waiting room in five minutes, with one snippet and no DNS changes.

Waitrooms puts a fair line in front of any page. When more people arrive than your site can take, the extra visitors wait on a page we host, and come back in order holding a signed pass. You don't move DNS, run a proxy or change your infrastructure.

  1. Create a room

    Sign up and follow the setup. A room needs your site's address (for example shop.example.com), the pages to protect (/checkout/*, or /* for everything), and how many visitors a minute your site can comfortably take. The free Personal plan includes one room.

  2. Add the snippet

    Pick whichever fits your stack. Replace your-room with your room's ID from the dashboard.

    <!-- First thing in <head> -->
    <script src="https://api.waitrooms.dev/v1.js" data-room="your-room"></script>

    While traffic is under capacity, visitors see your page as normal. Over capacity, they wait in line and are brought back automatically.

  3. Check it's working

    Load a protected page once. The setup flow and the room's Install tab tick off as soon as the snippet reports in.

Scarce stock or tickets? Also check the pass on your server, so nobody can skip the line by blocking the script. See Server-side protection.
